Dao Yin Qigong

Dao Yin Qigong is a comprehensive therapeutic exercise system that combines integrated physical movement, mental cultivation and regulated breathing. This activity is designed to guide and induce the free flow of energy Qi throughout the body, maintaining the harmony of Yin and Yang, which promotes health and a greater sense of well-being.

Chinese Dao Yin (导引) exercise has been widely applied to medical treatment and health preservation since ancient times, and it is also acknowledged as an effective traditional orthopaedic therapy by both ancient and modern traditional Chinese medicine. “Dao” (导) means to guide qi, the internal vital energy of the body, so as to create an internal balance, and “Yin” (引) means to stretch the body so as to gain strength and flexibility. Through physical movements, practicing `Dao Yin Qigong` can create the harmony of qi and blood in the body, thus achieving the purpose of preventing disease, improving health and accelerating the recovery of limb movement function. Qigong involves body movements and stretching designed to open meridian points to increase and balance the flow of qi and controlled breathing and mental focus which act together to direct the flow of qi .

At Preston VECWS Qigong class we teach and practice a more gentle form of Dao Yin and Qigong designed accommodate seniors needs but still very effective.

Our Qigong class is a blend of `Meditation` practice to quieten body and mind, energising simple and gentle Qigong forms, a simple easy Tai chi form suitable for everyone and the practice of `Xian Gong` which is considered one of the simplest and most effective healing form of Qigong.

Join us every Tuesday at 10:30 AM

for mindful movement and community connection.
