Qingming Festival: Honouring Tradition and Ancestral Roots
Qingming Festival is a cherished tradition in Chinese culture, symbolising remembrance, gratitude, and respect for our ancestors. On April 3, 2025, our association gathered at Fawkner Cemetery for a tomb-sweeping ceremony—an occasion to reflect on heritage and honour those who came before us.
Though modest and solemn, the ceremony was rich in meaning. Sincere offerings paid tribute to our forebears, while the gathering strengthened cultural bonds. Afterwards, members shared a warm lunch at the Preston Day Centre, enjoying traditional dishes and heartfelt connection.
This annual event not only keeps tradition alive but also reinforces the values of filial piety and community spirit. In commemorating Qingming together, we reaffirm our commitment to passing these traditions on to future generations.
