A Heartfelt Mother’s Day Celebration

To honour and express heartfelt gratitude to mothers, the Victorian Elderly Chinese Welfare Society (VECWS) hosts a special Mother’s Day celebration every May. This year, a warm and moving Cantonese opera concert will be held at Preston Town Hall, featuring elegant melodies and heartfelt performances dedicated to all senior mothers in our community.

On the day, members will dress in festive attire and showcase their talents. Several senior members will take the stage to perform classic Cantonese opera pieces, using traditional art to convey love and remembrance for mothers.

This is more than a musical gathering—it is a cherished cultural celebration that strengthens community bonds and preserves heritage.

Following the concert, all participants will continue the festivities at Gold Leaf Restaurant, enjoying a celebratory luncheon and gathering to share joyful moments and create lasting memories together.
